Catherine is an experienced research scientist, contributing to evaluation and research projects in education, psychology, sociology, and health and wellbeing for the last 15 years. Her collaborative work has focused on the development and implementation of behaviour change interventions relevant to obesity prevention, and the evaluation of investigative/diagnostic practices of clinicians in primary and secondary healthcare services.
Catherine's PhD thesis explored the discursive negotiation of minority sexual identities within mainstream (school and home) settings. More recently, her interest in minority identities focuses on neurodiversity and experiences of anxiety and masking for autistic adults navigating a predominantly neuronormative society.
